Guns and drugs seized after police search a house in Nollamara as part of crack down on crime in the area

Firearms, ammunition and drugs were allegedly been found during a police search of a Nollamara house on Tuesday. Police allegedly seized three modified firearms, prohibited weapons including spear guns, tasers and crossbows, and about 1.2kg of methamphetamines, as well as heroin, DMT and cannabis at the Berkeley Court home. A double-barrel musket, designed to shoot ball bearings, was also allegedly found, and police said they had safely removed some hazardous chemicals. Detectives from the Mirrabooka Rapid High Harm Offender Response team have since charged a 39-year-old Nollamara man with 15 offences and a 33-year-old Mindarie woman with 13 offences. The charges include possessing a trafficable quantity of meth with intent to sell or supply, possessing stolen or unlawfully obtained property, prohibited drugs, and the unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition. Police said the man had been stopped while driving at about 2:50pm on Tuesday, as part of an operation targeting drug activity and high-volume crime in the Mirrabooka district. During a search of the vehicle, detectives allegedly located more than $6000 in cash and about 57 grams of meth. A search warrant was subsequently executed at the Berkeley Court home. The man and woman have been remanded in custody. The man is due to appear before the Perth Magistrate’s Court on January 16 and the the woman is due to appear on January 5.
