Charge laid after man is filmed swimming with fish at Sydney Zoo aquariam

VideoAn almost naked man has been busted taking a dip in the aquarium at Sydney Zoo.

A NSW man who allegedly went for a swim in Sydney Zoo's aquarium is set to face court.

Police allege the 30-year-old Peakhurst man ignored warning signs and entered the zoo's aquarium about 3pm on Monday while being filmed by his friends.

Video on social media shows a man diving into the aquarium in his underwear and swimming with fish.

“We’re completely appalled that people would behave in this way,” zoo managing director Jake Burgess said.

“It not only jeopardises their own safety but the welfare of our animals as well.”

Police have issued a court notice to the man for the offences of behaving in an offensive manner, trespassing, interfering with a business, and opening/entering/damaging an animal enclosure

He will face Blacktown Local Court on September 17.

Inquiries are ongoing.
