Police investigate serious Kelmscott crash involving motorcycle, unmarked cop car

Police are calling for witnesses to a serious crash involving a motorcycle and an unmarked cop car in Kelmscott yesterday.

A police spokeswoman said officers tried to pull over a white Kawasaki motorbike travelling south-west on Gillam Drive on Wednesday morning at 10.45am.

The rider pulled into a service station at the intersection of Champion Drive, before pulling out again and heading in the opposite direction down Gillam Drive.

The bike crashed into a dark grey, unmarked Holden Commodore sedan police car.

The rider received serious leg injuries and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital. The occupants of the police car were not injured.

Major Crash investigators want to speak with anyone who saw the crash, witnessed the two vehicles beforehand or who have dashcam or mobile footage.
