Busselton agency Jack in the Box recently walked more than 200km as a team, raising more than $8000 for charity in its 20th anniversary.

The agency completed the combined challenge in support of the 2020 Hawaiian Walk for Women’s Cancer Challenge.

The event raised more than $875,000 for the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, of which the crew contributed $8127 — 306 per cent more than their goal. From September 20-26, the crew walked in support of the challenge, which culminated in director Scott Robinson pledging a final 20km walk along the picturesque Geographe foreshore on the last day, starting at Toby’s Inlet and finishing in the Busselton CBD.

While admitting to nursing some sore feet, Robinson said he could not be prouder of the crew’s committent to the challenge.

“We pride ourselves on doing things differently at the Box, and walking 200km as part of our 20th anniversary celebrations has to be right up there,” Robinson said.

“I’m so proud of the way the crew threw themselves into the challenge. Part of the reason we chose this event was in honour of my mum, Dawn, who passed away from breast cancer in 2017.”

The funds raised will go towards the Perkins Institute, researching a cure for women’s cancer. If you would like to contribute towards the team’s fundraising efforts, you can do so at walkforwomenscancer.org.au/fundraisers/Jackinthebox.
