Parkinson’s disease affects about 8000 West Australians, and Bunbury residents will have the chance to learn more about it at a community seminar next month.

Sunday marked World Parkinson’s Day to shine a light on the disease and the many ways it affects people’s lives.

The seminar, hosted by Parkinson’s WA, will be held at the Community Home Care Building from 1pm-4pm on Thursday, May 5, and will be about living with the condition for the first five years.

Attendees will hear from nurse specialists Nerolie Lyle and Liz Bickley, who will provide an overview of the early symptoms as well as tips on living well and minimising the impact of the diagnosis.

Tickets cost $10 for members and $15 for non-members, and bookings can be made by contacting Parkinson’s WA on 6457 7373.
