Talented young locals will have a chance to strut their stuff at a new community initiative at Prevelly’s Sea Garden Cafe this month.

Youngsters aged between six and 17 will feature in seven weeks of performances at the cafe on Saturdays, starting at 3pm.

Prizes will be offered to participants in the South West Talent Quest and spectator votes will make the final decision in two divisions: “saplings”, aged 13-17; and “sprouts” for ages 6-12.

Each performer gets 10 minutes, and all talents are welcome. Organisers hope singers, budding comics, impersonators, junior magicians and dancers will all go along and get in on the act.

A series of finals will take place in September as the competition wraps up, with the winners up for cash prizes — and all the acts will get free pizza.
