More than 100 Anzac Day services will take place across WA on Saturday to commemorate 111 years since the Gallipoli landing.

The services will provide locals with the opportunity to pay their respects to the men and women who have served and died in conflicts, wars and peacekeeping missions.

In the City of Perth, events include an all-abilities sunset service, the Kings Park dawn service, Anzac Day march in the CBD, cathedral service and a gunfire breakfast at the Government House gardens.

A massive crowd is expected at the Kings Park Anzac Day dawn service, with over 25,000 people anticipated to attend.

Brigadier Damian Bushell from the Australian Army will do the commemorative address, with Wing Commander Michael Moroney from the Royal Australian Air Force addressing the park’s sunset service.

In Perth’s north, the City of Joondalup is inviting people to attend one of Perth’s largest dawn services at Joondalup’s Central Park cenotaph.

Uniting the community in remembrance and gratitude, the ceremony will include a wreath-laying service, the traditional observance of one minute’s silence and the playing of the Last Post.

Joondalup mayor Daniel Kingston said the day was “a moment for all of us to pause and reflect on the extraordinary bravery, sacrifice and resilience of those who have served our nation”.

“This annual event is a powerful reminder of the values that bind us – courage, mateship and a deep sense of community,” he said.

“It is pleasing to see people of all ages come together at Central Park to honour the servicemen and women, hear their stories and reflect on their sacrifices that remain an enduring part of our national identity.”

In the City of Wanneroo, mayor Linda Aitken echoed Mr Kingston’s sentiments, saying Anzac Day offers an important opportunity for the community to come together and reflect.

“Anzac Day is one of the most significant days on our national calendar, as we honour those brave Australian and New Zealand Forces who served at Gallipoli and all those who have served our country since,” she said.

“It is a time to reflect on the courage and sacrifice of our past and present servicemen and women.”
