NSW residents could have even greater freedoms as early as Monday as the state’s vaccination rate accelerates toward the 80 per cent double-dose milestone.

On Tuesday the mark hit 75.23 per cent, up more than a full percentage point from yesterday, meaning NSW could reach its next milestone by the weekend.

It would trigger a further relaxation of public health restrictions for fully-vaccinated people from Monday, October 18, if that pace is maintained.

Among the new freedoms would be allowing groups of 20 people to gather in homes, excluding children, and up to 50 people can congregate outdoors.

Schools would reopen and community sport would recommence, while more people will be allowed into gyms, hospitality venues and pubs.

There will also be a slight change to the mask mandate.

Here’s what fully vaccinated residents can enjoy once the 80 per cent target is hit.

GATHERINGS

Up to 20 visitors will be allowed into people’s homes (not including children younger than 12) and up to 50 can gather outdoors.

Ticketed events will be able to hold up to 3000 people in outdoor and controlled settings, allowing the state’s arts and music industry to be kickstarted.

Up to 5000 people will be able to attend sporting events and there would be uncapped numbers for weddings and funerals.

Community sports are also back on.

TRAVEL

There will be a return to regional travel between Sydney and the rest of NSW, finally allowing family reunions and holidays.

MASKS

Masks will remain mandatory indoors except for in the office, a change introduced by new Premier Dominic Perrottet as an incentive to get people back at work.

HOSPITALITY

Drinking while standing up in a pub will be allowed but all venues will have density limits.

The 20 person limit on bookings will remain.

Nightclubs can reopen but dancing is not permitted.

HAIRDRESSERS

Hairdressers are already open but the density limits will no longer apply once the state hits 80 per cent.

WEDDINGS AND FUNERALS

There will be no limit on the number of people allowed to attend weddings and funerals, though all guests need to be fully vaccinated.

SCHOOLS

All school students will return to on site learning by October 25, so long as the school has CovidSafe measures in place.

Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 12 students will still return to face-to-face learning a week earlier.

More freedoms will be granted on December 1 and will also apply to unvaccinated residents.
