A bushfire that sparked in a paddock in Kalgan on Monday has been fully extinguished, with firefighters managing to contain and control the blaze by Tuesday afternoon.

A small paddock fire on the corner of Nanarup and Dempster roads in Kalgan sparked a bushfire advice alert for the adjacent area on Monday morning.

The advice warned residents in the area bounded by Hunton Road, Douglas Road, Dempster Road and extends south of Nanarup Road to stay up to date on situation.

It was downgraded to a reduced threat on Tuesday as the fire was stationary and brought under control and completely extinguished by Tuesday night, with the advice taken down by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services just after 5pm.

The fire was reported just after 11am on Monday morning, with DFES dispatching two volunteer fire and rescue crews to the scene.

Parks and Wildlife Service officers were also on scene on Monday assisting firefighting crews, and firefighters continued monitoring the area and mopping up on Tuesday afternoon.
