IN PICTURES: Hundreds of golfers packed the local greens for Albany Community Hospice Footy Stars event

Hundreds of golfers hit the links at Albany Golf Course on Sunday, taking a swing for a good cause in the annual Albany Community Hospice Footy Stars Weekend. Local golfers were joined by former West Coast players Jeremy McGovern and Glen Jakovich, along with former Professional Golfers Association Tour player Wayne Smith. A total of 144 players packed the Albany greens to compete in the golf tournament raising money for the Albany Community Hospice. The competition was tough on the course but Vanessa Floyd, David Ash and Diane Dowdell claimed victory in the handicap section of the event. The day not only included golf but also a sausage sizzle, an auction and an interview and question and answer session with McGovern and Jakovich. About $20,000 was raised from the golf day to go towards the big effort for hospice across the weekend.
