The Albany Art Group’s latest summer exhibition has been a hit with locals and tourists alike attracting more than 2000 people.

A Summer Song, the AAG’s latest exhibition, has been on display for the past two weeks showcasing a diverse range of talent and artforms across Albany.

The exhibition is on in the Albany Town Hall until 5pm Sunday.

AAG member Suzanne Randall said it highlighted different mediums and levels of talent.

“This is a special year for the group as we approach our 60th anniversary,” she said.

Ms Randall said visitation numbers had been “absolutely excellent”.

With all of the art work on display for sale, 74 pieces had been sold as of Tuesday afternoon.

A “special” highlight of this year’s exhibition included the decision to exhibit nude live drawings to help “enhance and promote” the art.

Exhibition organisers Marjan Bakhtiarikish and Ron Baker said it gave tourists a chance to see local art in the historic Town Hall over the holidays.

AAG has 66 members and organises workshops with visiting professional artists throughout the year.

The group will hold its next exhibition in February.
