A ready-made meal for children sold at supermarkets around the country has been recalled after authorities found evidence of “foreign matter” in the product.

Food Standards Australia issued a recall notice for Patties Food Group Little Meals Beef Cottage Pit 200g on Monday due to the presence of “black rubber”.

The product has been available in Woolworths, Coles and independent retailers including IGA nationwide.

The affected batch features the best before date of February 15, 2026.

“Consumers should not eat this product,” Food Standards Australia warned, noting black rubber “may cause illness (or) injury if consumed”.
