Hospital Siege, 2019

A gang takes control of the Northern Districts Hospital and holds several Summer Bay residents hostage. Mason Morgan (Orpheus Pledger) takes a stand to protect Bella Nixon (Courtney Miller), who is in need of urgent medical help. But the hostage- takers don’t back down and Mason is shot dead.

Bus Crash, 2014

Sophie Taylor (Bridgette Sneddon) kidnaps her ex, Nate Cooper (Kyle Pryor), and douses him in petrol before trying to jump out of the moving car. Nate is forced to swerve into the path of a bus full of passengers including pregnant Ricky (Bonnie Sween), which rolls and hits a third car driven by Darryl Braxton (Steve Peacocke) who has just learned that the baby he is expecting with Ricky is a boy, a new generation of the River Boys.

Hospital Explosion, 2013

Jade Montgomery (Tasma Walton), who burnt down Mangrove River High School, plants a phone bomb in Bianca Scott’s (Lisa Gormley) bag, which explodes in the hospital as Ricky is giving birth. The blast throws Hannah and Ethan MacGuire (Matt Minto) to the ground and Ethan dies from his injuries.

Stabbing, 2006

After losing her husband, Flynn Saunders, Sally Fletcher (Kate Ritchie) is finally finding some happiness. She has shared a kiss with her colleague, Brad Armstrong (Chris Sadrinna), and is heading back to her car with plans to meet him later when she’s stabbed by Rocco Cooper (Ian Meadows).

Mineshaft Incident, 2003

The Sutherland family become trapped in a collapsed mine shaft and are nearly buried alive. The situation becomes dire for asthma sufferer Jade Sutherland (Kate Garven) but the family are eventually rescued.

The Great Flood, 1996

Sam Marshall (Ryan Clark) falls into a flooded river and Michael Ross (Dennis Coard) jumps in to rescue him but is swept away by the raging floodwaters trying to save his foster son. At the same time, Angel Parris (Melissa George) goes into labour, but can’t get to the hospital because of the heavy rain.
