Madonna is going back to where it all began with an eight-figure deal to return to Warner Records who helped launch her career.

After nearly a decade, the singer has left her record label Interscope - home to Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar - and is set to secure a massive signing bonus with Warner Records who she was with for the first 25 years of her incredible music career.

Madonna, who turns 62 next week, is the best-selling female singer of all time having sold 300 million records worldwide.

She is featured on Dua Lipa’s upcoming single Levitating, which is slated for release on Friday.

Last week Instagram flagged Madonna’s account for spreading misinformation after she shared a coronavirus conspiracy theory with her 15 million followers.

She posted a now-deleted video that claimed a vaccine had already been developed but it was being kept from the public to “let fear control the people”.

“The Truth will set us all Free,” Madonna wrote.

“But some people don’t want to hear the truth.”

“Especially the people in power who stand to make money from this long drawn-out search for a vaccine which has been found and proven and has been available for months.”

“They would rather let fear control the people and let the rich get richer and the poor and sick get sicker.”

In the video, a group led by Dr Stella Immanuel who has a reputation for supporting controversial medical beliefs, made unsubstantiated claims that the drug hydroxychloroquine was a “cure for COVID”.

US President Donald Trump has defended Dr Immanuel and claimed the drug could prevent or treat COVID-19 and he has previously shared the same video on Twitter.

“She was on air along with many other doctors,” Trump said.

“They were big fans of hydroxychloroquine. And I thought she was very impressive in the sense that from where she came - I don't know which country she comes from - but she says she's had tremendous success with hundreds of different patients and I thought her voice was an important voice but I know nothing about her.”

The World Health Organization has said “there is currently no proof” that hydroxychloroquine is a treatment for the virus and that “the misuse of hydroxychloroquine can cause serious side effects and illness and even lead to death.”

Several people including former Eurythmics frontwoman Annie Lennox have hit back at Madonna.

“This is utter madness!!!” she said. “I can’t believe that you are endorsing this dangerous quackery. Hopefully your site has been hacked and you’re just about to explain it...”

Madonna claimed to have tested positive to coronavirus antibodies in March.
