It was scolding looks across the board as Ryder contends with the crushing news that his new Daddo won’t be around for long and Ben and Gemma’s burgeoning relationship upsets Maggie and Nikau.

Ben and Gemma are getting real friendly.

After their innocent chat a Gemma’s party last week, Ben hangs around at SALT sinking beers while Gem is working.

Despite Maggie’s pep talk from Leah, for some reason goes out of her way to see Ben, spying on him and boy is she unimpressed by what she sees.

Maggie jumps to conclusions and assumes they have some sort of romantic inclinations, although at this stage it was very PG.

Then Maggie is somehow unconvinced of what she was witness to, and goes back for more and demands to have a chat with Ben.

She’s paranoid and jealous and she needs to know if something’s going on which is a very realistic thought, but she actually has the audacity to ask him.

"It’s none of your business," Ben replies, and rightly so.

Maggie is going to have a bottle of wine with Roo to forget it happened. But they might need more than a bottle after her rather bold move.

It was refreshing to see her jacket tied around her waist, which slightly altered the positioning of her top, because seeing her bellybutton where her cropped top ties up has quickly turned into a pet peeve of mine.

Gem clocks off work and plays a few games of pool with Ben. They "accidentally" brush each other’s hands going for the same ball and Ben, happy with his decision to stay in a motel and not a van, invites Gem back to his.

Nik sits alone at home waiting for his mum to come home, but she won’t be coming home any time soon because she’s a little preoccupied.

He’s been thinking about his dad lately so Ben’s presence will no doubt be a point of growing tension.

Ben says he hasn’t been with anyone is a while and neither has Gem and it’s a bit of a will they won’t’ they moment until they walk towards each other and are embrace begin to kiss.

Ben has certainly moved on fast considering just a few weeks ago he self-medicated and overdosed on anti-depressants.

Things pick back up where they ended with Ryder sitting with Alf aka Grumps and Aunty Roo.

Alf is "impressed" with how Ryder is dealing Evan’s prognosis, which is ignoring it, because when Ryder and Evan meet up, they both pretend that they don’t know the other one knows.

Ryder asks Nikau out of the blue, "what was it like when your dad died?" and he says "I’d give anything to have a second chance with my dad."

Nik is quite taken at the thought of Ryder’s dad being a rock star that has toured the world which gives Ryder an epiphany.

"Live, music, night."

So ladies and gentlemen, will we be graced with the pleasure of hearing an intimate acoustic set from Evan?

Will Daddo sing?

If it were up to Evan, it’s not likely. He stalls and says he wants to think about it. It’s unclear why such an amazing muso wouldn’t want to play such an illustrious gig, but it may have to do with his lungs being filled with asbestos.

Luckily for us, Evan does not write the script and according to the preview, Daddo will sing.
