British comedy superstar Dawn French is heading to Perth and she is already shocking audiences before her arrival.

The Vicar of Dibley star has chosen a very unholy name for her comedy shows when she plays the Riverside Theatre for two nights in a row on April 10 and 11.

Explaining why it is called Dawn French is a Huge Twat, the French & Saunders star said: “This show is so named because unfortunately, it’s horribly accurate.”

The 65-year-old explained: “There have been far too many times I have made stupid mistakes or misunderstood something vital or jumped the gun in a spectacular display of twattery.”

The comic is now famous online for Instagram jibberish posts and pulling hilarious faces for her followers.

“I thought I might tell some of these buttock clenching embarrassing stories to give Australian audiences a peek behind the scenes of my work life,” she said.

Pulling no punches she said of her big announcement: “Book early to see the telly vicar lady be a total twat on stage, live in front of your very eyes. And ears.”

She previously said of her rude show name: Well, the title is a little controversial…I don’t know if that’s even printable, but I wanted to call it that because it’s true.”

French told Good Housekeeping: “I’ll show people all these moments – when I’ve sent emails to people who really shouldn’t have seen them, for example – and how they played out in real life.”

Tickets go on sale Thursday, September 28. For more info head to www.livenation.com.au
