Australia is facing an inevitable recession but Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA chief economist Aaron Morey says Western Australia weathered the COVID-19 economic storm better than most, with the State recording the fastest growth in the nation.

Speaking to The West Live host Jenna Clarke this morning Mr Morey will detail how we achieved this growth and explain what a recession means for West Australians.

While Australia will enter a recession for the first time in 30 years, Mr Morey will discuss how the nation’s economic contraction in the March quarter was modest compared to other countries.

Australian Governor-General David Hurley will also be speaking to Clarke about how his role has significantly changed amid the coronavirus crisis, including the amount of emergency laws he’s had to sign off in the past few months.
